Erik Carlson was born and raised in LA and the Beach Cities of Orange County, California. When Erik was 19 he moved to New York to pursue a singing career and soon landed a gig singing at the Rainbow Room at the top of Rockefeller Center. The show lasted for the summer of 1990, after which he played at various bars and cabaret rooms around Manhattan.

After two and half years in New York, Erik moved back to LA where he entered into a career as a Librarian which lasted for 7 years, during which time he was also a Chaplain in the LA County Jails. It was during this time that he began recording his album, The Way I Feel, with musician and producer Joe Turano. The album came together slowly over a three year period between work and Turano's tour dates and was completed in September 2001. Erik finished his tenure as Librarian and Chaplain, and in 2003 moved back to New York City to pursue a career in the aviation industry. Late in 2005 Erik earned his Private Pilot certificate in Long Beach California where he would fly during layovers working as a flight attendant for a major airline.

In between all of these endeavors, Erik has managed to continue singing, recording, and recently began playing live again in New York City. He is currently selecting material for a second album, and in the meantime is releasing singles of recent acoustic recordings, which will soon be available on iTunes and other music downloading sites, as is his first album.

In March of 2006, Sirius Satellite Radio DJ Pat Marino discovered Erik singing at a Greenwich Village Bar, and has since featured Erik's music on his show Sunset Cruise, on Sirius Out Q 106. In May, Erik was featured in a 20 minute interview with Marino wherein he talked about his album, his music, and what is on the horizon. In recent weeks, Erik appeared as a guest on Sirius Radio with pianist George Skaroulis for a unique rendition of Cyndi Lauper's True Colors.
